Wide Awake Parenting™ — Privacy Policy
Effective date: April 22, 2026
Last updated: April 22, 2026
Wide Awake Media, LLC ("we," "our," "us") operates wideawakeparenting.com (the "Website") and the courses, newsletters, and podcast associated with it. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and the rights you have.
We respect your privacy. We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third parties except as described here.
If any part of this policy is unclear, email us at legal@wideawakeparenting.com.

---
## 2. What information we collect
We only collect what we need to run the business. Categories:
### 2.1 Information you give us directly
- Email address and name — when you sign up for our newsletter, download a free guide, register for a course, or contact us.
- Payment information — when you purchase a course. Payment details (card number, billing address) are collected and processed by our payment processors (Stripe via Kajabi); we do not store your full card number on our systems.
- Communications — emails you send us, including any information you choose to share.
- Course progress — for enrolled students, we see which modules you have accessed and your progress percentage (used to enforce our refund policy and improve course design).
### 2.2 Information collected automatically
- Website usage data — pages visited, time on site, referring source, browser type, device type. Collected via Squarespace's built-in analytics and (when enabled) Google Analytics 4. This data is used in aggregate to understand which content resonates; it is not linked to your name or email unless you've created an account.
- Cookies — our Website uses cookies for essential site functionality (e.g., keeping you logged in) and for analytics. You can disable non-essential cookies through your browser settings without losing core Website functionality.
### 2.3 Information collected through integrated platforms
- Email engagement — when you receive an email from us (sent via Kit, formerly ConvertKit), we can see whether you opened it and which links you clicked. This helps us understand what content is useful and improve what we send.
- Course platform data — our course platform (Kajabi) collects login timestamps and progress metrics so students can resume where they left off.
- Advertising analytics (when we begin running paid ads, anticipated May 2026) — if you click one of our ads on Meta (Facebook or Instagram), Meta's pixel on our Website may record that visit to measure ad effectiveness. We configure this to collect aggregate conversion events only; we do not use it to build individual profiles.
### 2.4 Social media analytics data (Meta Platforms)
Wide Awake Media, LLC operates an internal analytics pipeline that uses the Meta Graph API and Instagram Graph API to retrieve performance metrics from our own Facebook Page and Instagram Business account (@wideawakeparenting). The data retrieved is limited to aggregate metrics — reach, impressions, engagement counts, follower counts, profile views, and post-level metrics — for content we have published. We do not collect identifying information about individual users who view or interact with our content through these APIs. Retrieved data is stored in a private spreadsheet accessible only to the business owner and mirrored to a local file on a password-protected device. This data is used solely for internal performance reporting and content planning.
### 2.5 What we do NOT collect
- We do not knowingly collect information about children. Our Website is directed at parents, not children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through our Website, contact us at legal@wideawakeparenting.com and we will delete it promptly.
- We do not collect clinical or health information through this Website. If you write to us and include clinical details, we treat that email with the same discretion as any professional communication, but this Website is not HIPAA-covered and should not be used to share protected health information.
- We do not record audio, video, or keystrokes on our Website.
---
## 3. How we use your information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To deliver what you signed up for — send the free guide, deliver the newsletter, grant access to a course, process a refund.
- To send you communications — newsletter emails, course announcements, and occasional updates about new content. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email.
- To improve our content — aggregate engagement metrics (open rates, course completion rates, which episodes are downloaded) tell us what's working and what isn't.
- To fulfill legal obligations — tax records, refund records, and other records we are required to keep.
- To prevent fraud and abuse — we may review unusual account activity, duplicate accounts, or refund patterns that suggest policy violations.
We do not use your information for automated decision-making, profiling, or targeted-advertising practices beyond the basic Meta-ads measurement described in §2.3.
---
